Name: [Prod. By Prince Ali XL] Where Are you from? I'm from Douglasville, GA. When did you start making music? I've been playing the drums and been involved in bands my whole life, so I guess technically I've always made music. I didn't really start making beats until about a year ago. What inspires you? I'm inspired by everything around me. Whatever vibes I'm taking in throughout the day come out of me in my music. What do you think distinguishes you from other producers? To me, making beats is a way to express not impress, and that's not really the vibe I get with a lot of other beat makers I come across. Also, every producer is gonna be different, but I think the main cause of separation from the pack is gonna come from a unique love of the art in music. How was it producing this project for Carlos Devone? Producing this project was amazing. It was my first time making beats that I knew someone was actually going to use. It was a great experience to be able to do my first work with an artist as creative and supportive as Los. How can people keep up to date with you? I can be reached at [email protected], and I'm also on Instagram @PrinceAliXL. My website is under construction at the moment, once it's finished it'll be in my bio. The story of the woman at the well in John 4 has always fascinated me. Jesus’ intentionality toward the woman has always been admirable and the woman’s response has been a model that I have often used to thrusts me to tell others about Jesus. It isn’t until recently that God has revealed a sobering truth: Me and the woman are the same. This story isn’t one that I should only use to model evangelism, but it is an in depth look at my heart. Let me explain. This woman has been looking for life in so many things, but overtime they fail her. Before Christ this was me, looking for life in all sorts of things yet I was never quite satisfied. Now that Christ has invaded my life He is my satisfier that never fails but how easy is it to forget this. As christians we have been justified (made right with God) freely through Christ, yet we are progressively being conformed into the image of Christ. Because of this truth it is so easy to not walk out the life Christ has called us to. Whether that be the deceitfulness of the world or the sin that still dwells within us, we are constantly running back to our empty “water pots”, trying to fill our desire for life with things that never bring life and only bring shame (The woman would go out to get her water at the hottest part of the day because she knew that no one would be there, thus she would not be ridiculed for the things that she had done-meaning her water pot symbolized everything shameful she had ever done). Yet, Jesus knowing everything we have ever done intentionally invades our world to offer life that not only satisfies, but it never runs out! This water is Himself. The Savior of the world who saw our broken, unsatisfied condition and took on our burdens so that in Him we would never thirst again. He satisfies because our souls were made to be satisfied by Him (God).
So as life and sin and discouragement and anything else that fights for your thirst attempt to turn you away from the true water, remember that Jesus gave you life and life to the full. Drop your “water pot” and realize that Jesus knows everything about you and STILL stretches His hands wide to bring you to the Father. If you don’t personally know this as a reality I encourage you to read John 4, and know that Jesus sees every struggle, insecurity, and shame and STILL wants to extend love and forgiveness to you. He can give you rest. Carlos If this season of life has taught me anything, its that God is completely and totally sovereign. That word simply means that He is in complete control of everything and nothing frustrates His plans. And while this notion could seem unloving and cold, when considered from the Christian perspective it is a glorious truth that makes our hearts leap with joy. It is in God’s control that He has orchestrated salvation, the forgiveness of sins and redemption from the punishment of hell, which is eternal separation from Him under His holy and just wrath. The bible teaches us that because we have sought life apart from its Creator that we all deserve this punishment, but God in His sovereignty sent his Son, Jesus, to live the life we could never live, die the death that we deserve, and in His resurrection defeat the power of sin and death if we would put our hope in Jesus and that work. What a wonderful plan!
This plan gives my heart great hope in this life that God will work all things for my good and his glory and that everything that comes my way is a reflection of that truth (Romans 8:28 and following). Whether that be bumps in the road with our support raising efforts, battles with sin, or discouragement in trying to make Christ known to the world, I know that it is all going to make me more like my Savior Jesus and it will bring Him glory. Nothing escapes the gaze of our God. And everything is used to point you directly to Him. One of the most comforting things in the world to me is God’s sovereignty. It releases my mind from all worry and sets my affections heavenward With love, Los |
